.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Tuesday Night)
Issued at 1135 PM CDT Sun Mar 15 2026

As of late Sunday evening, a well-advertised band of strong to
severe thunderstorms was battering Middle Tennessee with pockets
of strong gusty winds, large hail, and at least one tornado
report. The band will continue to work its way eastward overnight
and should be located off to our east before daybreak Monday. The
band of storms was being pushed along by a strong cold front, and
the passage of this front will kick off a sharp temperature drop.
By daybreak, temperatures will be in the 30s.

For daytime Monday, temperatures will be much colder with highs
only in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Winds will continue to be
gusty, but thankfully not as strong as we experienced Sunday and
Sunday night. Some post-frontal moisture will result in mostly
cloudy skies with scattered snow showers or flurries. This snow
should not amount to much, but the Plateau may have a dusting on
grassy areas. No travel impacts are expected with the ground being
warm and air temperatures being marginal for accumulations.

Monday night will bring clearing skies with a hard freeze across
the area. Lows will be mostly in the lower 20s. Cold northwest
flow will continue Tuesday. In spite of sunshine, highs will
again reach just the lower 40s.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday through next Monday)
Issued at 1135 PM CDT Sun Mar 15 2026

A quick rebound will start Wednesday with temps reaching the 50s
to lower 60s, then continuing upward the the 70s by Friday and
some 80s Saturday. There are no significant precipitation chances
in the forecast through the week beyond Monday.

&&

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1202 AM CDT Mon Mar 16 2026

The taf period will begin with a thunderstorm squall line
impacting CSV and SRB. Severe conditions are expected through 08Z with
very heavy rain, possible hail, and gusty winds to 50KT. West of
the squall line, MVFR post-frontal conditions will be in place
overnight with showers and gusty west winds to 25KT.

Daytime Monday will bring mostly VFR conditions to BNA/MQY/CKV and
mainly MVFR conditions to CSV/SRB where scattered light snow
showers will occur. All sites will maintain gusty winds,
frequently around 25KT.
