- Light Snow with chance of Freezing Rain Tonight

 A warm frontal pattern continues to approach from the west.
Current radar shows any precipitation moving over the Lake
currently dissipating. As the warm front approaches from the west,
snow showers should over spread the region this afternoon and
evening. As the front lifts out there will be a chance for some
warmer air through the mid levels with surface temps still at or
below freezing. Soundings at RQB from 06Z to 12Z Tuesday show a
weak warm nose, along with an unsaturated DGZ. This shows some
concern for the potential of Freezing rain/Drizzle tonight.
 Chances remain marginal so have held off on any headlines.
However, will have to keep an eye out and we may issue and
advisory for this later today. The main areas of concern would be
in and around Big Rapids, Reed City, Baldwin down to White Cloud
region.

- Warm Weather Ahead

 No major changes to the forecast, Warm air will continue to
advect through the region this week, with temperatures increasing
through the week and peaking around Christmas. Rain is expected
Christmas night followed by a pattern shift bookmarked by a cold
front this upcoming weekend.

VFR conditions are expected with southerly winds. Ceilings will
lower as BKN to OVC clouds from the west around 10000 feet move in
overnight into Monday morning. How far south snow makes it Monday
morning will depend on if dry air toward the surface saturates.
Better chances (greater than 30 percent) are north of the TAF
sites. Low level wind shear is expected with the 40 knot low
level jet overhead Monday morning into Monday evening. MVFR
clouds fill in toward the end of the forecast between 0-6Z. We`ll
have to watch a slight signal for drizzle during this timeframe as
well. Depending on surface temperatures there could be a concern
for freezing drizzle if it develops.
