.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 149 AM EST Sun Dec 22 2024
Chilly start to the day with areas of early morning frost across
portions of the nature coast. Surface high pressure will move to
the mid Atlantic coast today with boundary layer winds shifting to
the northeast off the Atlantic this afternoon. This will begin the
process of airmass modification over west central and southwest
Florida with temperatures and low level moisture gradually
rebounding over the next couple of days.

Early next week, high temperatures will return above climatic
normals with highs around 70 north to the mid/upper 70s central
and south under partly cloudy skies. Although conditions will
remain predominately dry, northeast to east boundary layer flow
off the Atlantic will generate a few showers advecting onshore the
east coast of Florida. Showers will dissipate as they push
inland, but a risk remains for a brief light shower over the
interior Tuesday through Thursday afternoons.

An U/L ridge will build over the eastern seaboard and Florida late
in the week with continued mild temperatures and dry conditions.
However, Euro and GFS hinting at U/L energy moving over portions
of the Florida peninsula from the south with increasing deep
layer moisture and a chance for rain. Will need to monitor if/how
this evolves as NBM remains dry, which is preferred solution at
this stage.
