.KEY MESSAGES...
1. Areas of dense fog will develop each night and morning in
the San Joaquin Valley this week.

2. Expect drying and warming conditions elsewhere with gusty
easterly winds in the Kern County mountains at times this week.

3. Overnight cold temperatures continue to be near 30s.

&&

.DISCUSSION...
Ridge of high pressure continues to dominate the areas sensible
weather, and will continue to do so throughout the rest of this
week and into this weekend. Areas of dense fog will remain the
top story throughout the week, with everyday featuring some
level of fog development. Probabilities of quarter-mile or less
visibility is once again 50-70% across the valley Wednesday
morning. Reduced visibilities will create hazardous driving
conditions in areas of fog. Expect fog development each night
and morning in the San Joaquin Valley for the remainder of the
week.

Temperatures will continue to warm today, throughout the week,
and into the weekend with high temperatures maxing out around
the low 60s in the Valley and low 70s in the Mojave. Low
temperatures remain in the 30s for the next couple of night in
the Valley,but looking to stay above freezing in most locations.
Some low 40s for low temperatures are probable into this
weekend. In the longer term, not much change to the overall
pattern as ridging stays locked in with any flow staying well
north and east of California. CPC continues to carry above
normal temperatures in the 6-10 and 8-14 day range, 70-80% and
50-60% respectively. Gusty easterly winds are likely in the
Kern County mountains at times this week.

&&

.AVIATION...
Fog continues to linger in the valley this mid morning, with a
decrease in coverage expected to continue through the rest of
the morning and into this afternoon with categories becoming
MVFR and VFR. IFR and LIFR probabilities will once ahead
increase 40-60% late tonight and early Wednesday morning, mainly
after 07-09z, with fog redeveloping.
