.SYNOPSIS...
Warm weather will continue through Friday as high pressure stays
over the region. This will bring a shallow marine layer with night
and morning fog along the immediate coast. A troughing pattern
will take hold into the weekend and much of next week, leading to
cooler weather and low clouds venturing further inland across the
western valleys.

COUNTIES...

High pressure over Baja California will dominate the near-term
forecast period, providing warm weather and mostly sunny
conditions. This will also help to suppress the marine layer
which has led to dense fog along the immediate coast throughout
the day. Current satellite imagery shows a thinner strip of
clouds continuing to shrink near the coast, so better clearing is
likely to occur later this afternoon. Dense fog will reform
overnight into Thursday morning, with similar coverage as today.
High temperatures will rise a few degrees each day through Friday
as the area of high pressure strengthens. Chances are high to see
triple digit heat across the lower deserts by Friday with highs
near 90 degrees in the high desert and across far inland valleys
west of the mountains.

A dry trough will develop off the coast and near SoCal by the
weekend. This will bring cooling across the region to temperatures
near to slightly above average with a deeper marine layer,
inhibiting any fog development to foothills and higher terrain. A
stronger trough will also pass over the Pacific NW on Saturday,
tightening the pressure gradient. This will lead to elevated winds
across the mountains and deserts with gusts near 30-45 MPH at
times. Models are in fairly good agreement on another low
rotating through the trough into the middle of next week. This
will keep the similar weather pattern through much of next week
with night and morning low clouds at the coast and western
valleys along with highs near normal.

.AVIATION...
092030Z...Coast...Patchy fog and low clouds with bases around
200-300 feet MSL will begin to fill back in after 08Z into
tomorrow morning with most of the low clouds/fog remaining
confined to the immediate coastal areas. Inland Valleys...mostly
clear skies with unrestricted VIS and tomorrow. There could be
some of the fog making into portions of the Mission Valley and
Carlsbad areas, as well as patchy fog developing within some of
the wind-protected valleys during the early morning hours. Skies
will begin to scatter out beginning around 16-18z Thursday.

.MARINE...
Areas of fog with visibility 1 NM or less will still be possible
from around Midnight through 10 AM tomorrow. Otherwise, no hazardous
marine conditions are expected through Sunday.
