.KEY MESSAGES...

* Mostly sunny skies and light winds continue through midweek as
  temperatures continue to gradually warm heading into next weekend.

* Midweek, incoming moisture will bring low chances of
  precipitation to the Sierra and increased cloud cover to parts
  of the region.

.DISCUSSION...through next weekend.

High pressure ridging will be the dominant force influencing our
weather through the upcoming week. High pressure currently focused
across the southwestern US will amplify late in the week and into
the weekend, with temperatures climbing well above normal. Mojave
Desert valleys will climb to near 80 degrees or higher Friday
through Sunday, and may even eclipse 90 in the lower reaches of
the Colorado River Valley near Lake Havasu, as well as lowest
parts of Death Valley. Temperatures this warm will constitute
"Minor" HeatRisk for those spending time outdoors without
acclimation to temperatures, particularly affecting those
sensitive to heat.

There will be a weakening atmospheric river focusing into
Northern California Thursday before weakening as it moves
southward. By the time it reaches the southern Sierra, there won`t
be a whole lot left of it. However, some light precipitation
remains possible in the southern Sierra, mostly north of Mt
Whitney, which will largely fall as rain below 10kft AGL. Without
much dynamic forcing, just some enhanced mid and high cloud cover
is expected anywhere else.

.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 06Z Forecast Package...Light
winds will persist through the TAF period, generally following
typical diurnal directional patterns. VFR conditions will prevail
into Monday, with scattered to broken high clouds and bases
remaining AOA 20kft AGL.

For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast
California...For the 06Z Forecast Package...Outside of the Colorado
River Valley, winds will be light and follow typical diurnal
directional trends through Monday evening. In the Colorado River
Valley, northerly winds with occasional gusts to 25 to 30 knots will
persist into early Monday afternoon near KIFP before decreasing
below 20 knots by late afternoon. Lighter north winds are expected
near KEED, generally in the 10 to 15 knot range. VFR conditions will
prevail through the TAF period, with scattered to broken high clouds
and bases generally remaining AOA 20kft AGL.
