* Hot and dry conditions through the rest of the week, with a
  warming trend bringing triple digit heat to the lower valleys by
  this weekend.

* Nearby fires producing smoke may reduce air quality and bring
  impacts to sensitive groups.

.DISCUSSION...

Dry, southwesterly flow continues over northeast California and
northwest Nevada through much of this week, courtesy of high
pressure near the Four Corners region and low pressure over the
PacNW. As the high progresses westward, afternoon high
temperatures are slated to increase each afternoon, reaching the
triple digits for lower valleys by Wednesday. Current
probabilities show a 50/50 chance Reno will see 100F Thursday,
increasing to 90% by the weekend. Major HeatRisk becomes
relatively widespread for much of western Nevada valleys by
Friday through the weekend. Stay hydrated and take breaks in the
shade this weekend!

Typical afternoon breezes up to 20-25 mph continue each day this
week. As nearby fires continue to produce smoke, both around the
Reno area and in northern Washoe county from fires in Oregon and
Idaho, air quality may become reduced. For those sensitive to
these changes, please visit fire.airnow.gov for latest air quality
readings.

of 20-25 kts each afternoon. Increasing high temperatures may
