* WHAT...Heavy snow expected for elevations above 5500 feet. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 feet and up to 5 feet along higher peaks. * WHERE...West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western Plumas County/Lassen Park Counties. * WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 4 PM PST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Snow-covered roads, chain controls and travel delays are likely which will result in very difficult travel at times above 5500 feet. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels this afternoon will be high from 6000-7000 feet, then quickly lowering to around 5000 feet Saturday morning. Snowfall will decrease in intensity from late Saturday afternoon into Sunday, followed by heavy snow at times again Monday and Tuesday. For the Upper Sacramento River...including Bend Bridge, Vina Woodson Bridge...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Sacramento River at Vina Woodson Bridge. * WHEN...From this evening to tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 183.9 feet, Woodson Bridge Park is closed due to flooding. Water is up to the top steps of the recreation center at Woodson Bridge RV Park and spaces 15-33 begin to take on water on the east bank of the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 AM PST Friday the stage was 179.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 180.0 feet. - Forecast...Forecast to rise to near 183.0 FT late this evening then forecast to fall below monitor stage of 180.0 FT tomorrow morning then forecast to recede to near 171.0 FT late Sunday morning. * Impact...Near 184.9 feet, South Avenue starts to flood east of the river. Near 183.9 feet, Woodson Bridge Park is closed due to flooding. At 211 feet water begins to enter Driftwood RV fishing resort on east bank of river and just north of the county park. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 AM PST Friday the stage was 211.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 206.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:00 AM PST Friday was 211.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 212.2 feet late this afternoon. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northern California, including the following counties, Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Sutter, Tehama and Yuba. * WHEN...Until 900 AM PST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. Increasing water levels along streams and creeks with enhanced runoff in the Park Fire burn scar. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 901 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 3 and 10 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 4 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1117 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges have indicated heavy rain over the last 2 days. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 4 and 11 inches of rain have fallen, locally higher amounts in Shasta County. - While the heaviest rainfall has occurred in this advisory area, runoff will continue to work its way through waterways and cause flood-related impacts. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Redding, Red Bluff, Corning, Orland, Willows, Elk Creek, Palo Cedro, Alder Springs, Yolla Bolly District Rs, Shasta Dam, Shingletown, Glenn, Shasta Lake, Anderson, Tehama, Rancho Tehama Reserve, Blossom, Flournoy, Henleyville and Paskenta. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Information: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
