Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 feet and up to 5 feet along higher peaks. * WHERE...West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western Plumas County/Lassen Park Counties. * WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 4 PM PST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Snow-covered roads, chain controls and travel delays are likely which will result in very difficult travel at times above 5500 feet. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels this afternoon will be high from 6000-7000 feet, then quickly lowering to around 5000 feet Saturday morning. Snowfall will decrease in intensity from late Saturday afternoon into Sunday, followed by heavy snow at times again Monday and Tuesday. * WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning today: Heavy snow. Snow accumulations between 1 to 2 feet above 7,000 feet and up to 3 feet at the highest peaks. 2 to 6 inches below 7,000 feet. Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. Ridge wind gusts will reach up to 125 mph. For the Winter Storm Watch Sunday-Tuesday: Heavy snow with 3-8 inches below 7000 feet and 1 to 3 feet above 7000 feet. * WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area, and Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra Counties. * WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, from 10 AM this morning to 10 PM PST Saturday. For the Winter Storm Watch, from late Sunday night through Tuesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening and Monday morning commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northern California, including the following counties, Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Sutter, Tehama and Yuba. * WHEN...Until 900 AM PST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. Increasing water levels along streams and creeks with enhanced runoff in the Park Fire burn scar. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 901 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 3 and 10 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 4 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chico, Paradise, Oroville, Pulga, Mineral, Brush Creek Rs, Chester, Quincy, Palermo, Shingletown, Glenn, Gridley, East Quincy, Mill Creek, Butte Meadows, Stirling City, Lovelock, De Sabla Powerhouse, Storrie and Forest Ranch. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Information: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. This does not include the Middle Fork of the Feather or the Pit River in Lassen County. * WHERE...A portion of northeast California, including the following counties, Lassen, Plumas and Sierra. * WHEN...Until noon PST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding possible along low lying areas near the Susan River in and downstream of Susanville, as well as near other creeks, streams, urban areas. Rock and debris may cover roads especially near or below recent burn areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 112 PM PST, Rounds of high elevation snow and heavy rain are forecast today through Saturday morning before transitioning to snow. - Total rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are expected over the area. The Susan River has been slow to rise as of Thursday afternoon, but additional rainfall may result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
