Easterly winds have ushered in a cool, dry airmass across Georgia
today, with highs expected in the mid to upper 50s across northern
areas and low to mid 60s down across central Georgia. RH values will
be in the low 20s to upper teens pretty much area-wide this

counties and upper 60s to low 70s from the Atlanta metro southward

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday morning through next Sunday)
Issued at 1247 PM EST Mon Dec 22 2025
Wednesday and Thursday look to be dry and warm across Georgia, with
highs in the mid to upper 70s across all but the mountains of north
Georgia, which should stay in the 60s. Some areas south of the
Atlanta metro across central Georgia may approach 80 under strong
upper-level ridging. A shortwave passing to the north Friday into
Friday night will bring a 20% chance of rain to north Georgia, with
best chances currently across Fannin, Union, and Towns counties.
Sunday will bring higher rain chances to much of north and central
Georgia as a cold front works into the region, dropping highs around
and north of the Atlanta metro back into the 60s.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 651 PM EST Mon Dec 22 2025
VFR cigs are moving into the metro TAF sites at the beginning of
the TAf period, generally between 050 and 070. These will likely
remain in place through the much of the night, with some chance
that MVFR impacts may occur towards the morning hours. Expect
cloud cover to be slow to dissipate on Tuesday across metro sites.
Current forecast begins to SCT by 17-19Z, but chance these stick
around a bit longer. Winds are SE at 3-7 kts at start of period,
will decrease to near calm, then go SW tomorrow morning by 16Z at
4-9 kts.
//ATL Confidence...00Z Update...
Medium cigs (see above for reasoning), high all others.
