.KEY MESSAGES...
Updated at 623 PM EST Fri Dec 19 2025

 - Sunny and mild conditions expected through Saturday.

 - Generally dry through the long term period, with temperatures
   warming to well above average by Christmas Day.

&&

.SHORT TERM...
(This afternoon through Saturday)
Issued at 143 PM EST Fri Dec 19 2025

It has been a rather breezy Friday in the wake of the cold front
that brought a round of showers and thunderstorms to the area
overnight, but surface winds will continue to taper off into the
evening -- owing to a slackening pressure gradient as the center of
a surface high pressure system slides into place atop the Southeast.
The combination of the aforementioned surface high and benign, quasi-
zonal flow at the mid-levels will support abundant sunshine and
generally mild conditions to round off the week and start the
weekend. Today is likely to be the coolest of the next seven, with
highs in just the mid-40s to lower 60s areawide. Calm winds and
clear skies overnight are prime conditions for radiational
cooling, and lows Saturday morning will drop into the upper 20s to
lower 30s.

As winds kick to the southeast tomorrow morning, we`ll see the start
of a multi-day warming trend, with highs reaching into the upper 50s
to mid-60s.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Sunday morning through next Thursday)
Issued at 143 PM EST Fri Dec 19 2025

Not much going on in the extended period. High pressure dominates
the extended periods with above normal temps through the end of next
week.

Sunday starts off with a dry weak frontal boundary pushing south
though the state. We may se some increased cloud cover from this but
not expecting any precipitation. There is a weak wave along the tail
end of the front that stalls over MS Sunday then makes its way back
NE Monday, moving up into the Mid Atlantic states by 12z Tue.
Extreme north GA could see some light showers from this but high
pressure centered right over GA begins to strengthen Tue into Wed
clearing things out for the rest of the week. With this ridge in
place temperatures will gradually climb through the end of next
week. We could see high temps in the 60s and 70s Tue/Wed with 70s
Thu/Fri.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 623 PM EST Fri Dec 19 2025

VFR conditions will persist through the TAF period, with mostly
clear skies. Winds will be NW at 6-10 kts to start the evening,
diminishing to 4-6 kts around 04-05Z at the metro ATL sites,
then shifting to SE around 13-14Z on Saturday morning. Winds at
MCN/CSG will become light and variable overnight, coming up on the
SE side at 3-5 kts around 16Z.

//ATL Confidence...00Z Update...
High confidence on all elements.
