.KEY MESSAGES...
* Quiet weather continues through the week with gradually warming
temperatures and breezy north winds along the Colorado River
Valley.
* Pattern change expected this weekend. Details remain uncertain
at this time.
&&
.DISCUSSION...Through Sunday.
Ridging currently in place over the Western US will amplify through
midweek- resulting in clear skies, dry conditions, and above normal
temperatures. As the ridge strengthens, an area of low pressure will
deepen off the coast of the Baja Peninsula. This low will do little
to influence local weather in the short term except to strengthen
the pressure gradient over the region. Winds will become north in
response and terrain enhanced gusty winds down the Colorado River
Valley are expected Tuesday and Wednesday. Higher probabilities for
wind gusts over 40 MPH are isolated and bullseye the typical windy
spots around Laughlin with most of the Colorado River Valley at 30%
chance or less for impactful winds. Looking at ensemble meteograms
at KIFP, wind gusts could touch but not much exceed 40 MPH each
afternoon. Did not see the need for a wind headline given the
isolated and marginal nature of the wind gusts, but boaters on Lake
Mohave and Lake Havasu should be aware of gusty north winds and
choppy waves Tuesday and Wednesday. After Wednesday, the ridge
begins to break down which will reduce the pressure gradient and
thus, reduce the winds in response. Anomalously high heights will
remain in place over the region the rest of the week though they
will weaken each day.
A pattern change is anticipated this weekend into early next week as
the low of the Baja Peninsula ejects into the region and potentially
phases with an incoming West Coast trough. The weekend should remain
low impact as the moisture associated with this system looks weak.
Low chances for light precipitation is possible but heavy or
continuous rain is not likely. Cluster analysis is in good agreement
that a potent upper level trough will move in the first half of next
week, but what that looks like for our regional weather is too soon
to tell. Temperatures will decrease in response to the incoming
systems but much cooler temperatures should hold off until next week
with this weekend remaining above normal.

.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 00Z Forecast Package...Light
winds following typical directional patterns are expected through
Tuesday. Speeds will likely (90%+ chance) remain under 8KT through
the period. Just a few high clouds at times.
For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast
California...For the 00Z Forecast Package...Light winds following
typical daytime and nighttime directions are expected through
Tuesday in most locations across the region. In the Colorado River
Valley, northerly winds will gust to around 20kts near KIFP into
this evening before winds diminish to around 10kts. Northerly winds
will redevelop and strengthen Tuesday morning after sunrise with
gusts 20-25KT likely. VFR conditions will persist with just a few
high clouds at times.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...Spotters are encouraged to report
any significant weather or impacts according to standard operating
