.KEY MESSAGES...
* Expect mild temperatures today with isolated showers possible in
the Sierra during the afternoon.
* There is a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms in
the eastern Sierra south of Tahoe on Monday and Tuesday.
* A warming trend begins Monday and results in a return of typical
summertime heat from midweek into next weekend.

.DISCUSSION...
Our latest spring-like storm will continue to lift northeastward
away from the region, allowing for slightly warmer temperatures and
lighter winds today. Plan on today`s daytime highs to reach the 60s
and 70s for Sierra and western Nevada communities, respectively.
Isolated showers are possible this afternoon in the eastern Sierra
from the Tahoe Basin south to Mono County, but odds are low (5-10%).
Weak low pressure will detach from the mean flow and linger across
the western states over the next few days. Thunderstorm chances
increase to 10-20% Monday and Tuesday afternoon across the eastern
Sierra from Tahoe southward. A few showers or isolated thunderstorms
may also develop east of US-95 each afternoon Monday and Tuesday.
Low pressure finally dislodges around midweek and introduces dry,
southwest flow to the region, likely inhibiting shower and
thunderstorm activity for the latter half of the week. A warming
trend begins in earnest on Monday and lasts into the following
weekend, culminating in widespread 80 and 90 degree heat from
midweek onward.
