.Synopsis...
Warm weather with areas of Minor HeatRisk into Tuesday, warmest
today. Breezy northerly winds late in the week. Slight chance of
showers and thunderstorms over the mountains and foothills each
afternoon and evening Tuesday - Thursday. The best potential for
thunderstorms is on Wednesday, with locally moderate to heavy
rain possible with any storms that form. Light high elevation
snow is possible in the Sierra Thursday night into Friday.

.Key Messages...

* Today:

-Above-normal temperatures will continue into Tuesday with Minor
  HeatRisk in the Valley and foothills. Warmest temperatures
  expected today.

-Probability for today of max temps of 85 degrees F or higher:
- 30 to 60% in the N San Joaquin and S Sacramento valleys
- 65 to 95% in the central/northern Sacramento Valley

* Tuesday - Saturday:

-Warm weather continues, briefly cooling to near normal in some
  areas on Wednesday and Thursday and then warming again late week

-15-40% probability for thunderstorms over the Sierra Nevada and
     southern Cascades Tuesday-Thursday afternoons and evenings,
     highest on Wednesday. Confidence is much lower for the late-week
     time frame

    -25-55% probability >1" of snow Thursday night into Friday for
     Sierra above 6500 ft I-80 south, highest south Highway 4

-Probability of northerly Wind Gusts > 30 mph late Thursday into Friday:
       - 50-80% mainly along the western Sacramento Valley

-Some uncertainty remains in the pattern headed towards next weekend,
     though generally looks warm and dry after Friday

.Changes from previous forecast...

* Increased probability for isolated afternoon and evening mountain and
  foothills thunderstorms this week. Best chances are on Wednesday, with
  locally moderate to heavy rain possible

* Increased slightly probability for breezy north to east winds
  on Friday

* A dusting to a few inches of snow are possible for the Sierra
  above 6500 feet Thursday night into Friday, highest south of
  Highway 4.

VFR conditions expected over the next 24 hours at TAF sites with
winds generally light and less than 12 kts.
