.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 249 AM CDT Sun Jun 8 2025

To begin the period, strong to severe storms are expected Sunday and
Monday as an MCS tracks across the state. This system will bring
another round of severe weather to parts of the Natural State,
mainly Sunday night into early Monday morning. Additional rounds of
rain will be possible later Monday with a break in the unsettled
weather Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday shows signs for another
round of severe weather although changes to the forecast are
possible.

As mentioned above, severe weather chances will be possible late
Sunday night into early Monday morning as an MCS tracks across part
of the state. As of right now, the extreme southwestern AR will
likely take the strongest part of this system with western and
central areas seeing mainly gusty winds and heavy rainfall. With
that said, we will have to wait and see where the MCS begins
Sunday night to get a good idea of the eventual track.

Rainfall amounts through Monday are expected to be highest across
southwestern Arkansas where the system is expected to track across.
Surrounding areas like eastern, central and west-central Arkansas
will also receive more rain but likely only up to an inch in
accumulations.

Temperatures are expected to be average to above average through
much of the period with high temperatures in the lower 80s (mainly
northern locations) to lower 90s and overnight low temperatures
dropping into the lower 60s to lower 70s across the state.
