.KEY MESSAGES...
Issued at 1057 AM CDT Mon Aug 4 2025

Low chance for isolated thunderstorms in the northwest Panhandles
this evening. There is then a further low chance that any of the
storms become severe.

Hot (>=100 degree) temperatures are expected Wednesday through
Friday across the combined Panhandles.

.SHORT TERM...
(This afternoon through Tuesday night)
Issued at 1057 AM CDT Mon Aug 4 2025

The four corners high over the desert SW is building to the NE
across the southern plains for both today and Tuesday. While it is
doing so it will still allow for a minor weather system to enter
the far NW panhandles this evening. This tiny weather system has a
low chance of spawning thunderstorms in SE CO before they pass
into the NW panhandles. These storms, if they do form, would
arrive in the panhandles only a couple hours before midnight. The
dynamics associated with this weather system will allow for
supercell mode of thunderstorms which will be capable of producing
all hazards. The chances for severe weather remain low as it is
questionable for the thunderstorms to make it to and then last in
the panhandles. Regardless the increasingly stable conditions
during the early morning will spell the doom for any thunderstorm
with calm weather for the mid morning and beyond. Today will see
increasing temperatures from the building high pressure with the
highs today in the uppers 80s to low 90s.

Tuesday the four corners high will be more established over the
southern plains cutting the moisture feed off for the panhandles.
Further this will also prevent any weather system moving across
the panhandles as they will be shifted to the east. Both of these
will lead to dry conditions for Tuesday with no expected active
weather. The building of the high pressure will lead to an
increase in the heat with highs increasing to mid to upper 90s for
Tuesday afternoon.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday through next Sunday)
Issued at 1057 AM CDT Mon Aug 4 2025

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will have a high chance of having
the four corners high significantly over the souther plains. This
will continue the stretch of dry and fair weather conditions
across the panhandles. The heat will soar with the full weight of
the four corners high across the region. This will bring the highs
into the upper 90s to lower 100s across the panhandles. Such heat
will pose a danger to people and animals so do not be shocked if
we issue heat products over the course of the week.

Then come this weekend there is increasing confidence in the
arrival of a weather system that will weaken and push back the
four corners high. This system would then pass into the southern
plains bringing a round of wetter weather. With the weakened high
pressure the is higher chances than not that the panhandles will
find itself under a NW flow again. This makes it more likely that
further weather system will pass across the panhandles for next
week continuing the wet weather. The weakening of the high
pressure and the reintroduction of moisture will most likely lead
to cooler temperatures for the weekend.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 627 PM CDT Mon Aug 4 2025

VFR conditions continue for the next 24 hours at all TAF sites.
Wind speeds are expected to stay up over night at AMA, and breezy
winds will continue into tomorrow shifting from southeast to
south. At DHT and GUY wind speeds will die down this evening and
should ramp up again tomorrow, flowing from the south-southwest.
