.New NEAR TERM, SHORT TERM, LONG TERM, MARINE...

NEAR TERM...
(Now through Friday)
Issued at 350 PM CST Thu Nov 14 2024

A cooler and much drier airmass will be in place through the near
term period as upper troughing moves into the western Atlantic
and an upper ridge builds into the local region from the west. At
the surface, the cold front which began passing overhead this
morning, has cleared the remainder of the local CWA. Behind it, a
large high pressure system located over the central US will push
towards the east throughout the period. With the dry airmass in
place (PWATs below 0.5 inches), along with subsidence from the
deep layer ridging overhead, no rain is expected through the
period. Temperatures will finally drop to where we should be for
this time of year starting tonight, with lows ranging from the mid
40s inland to the low 50s along the coast and highs tomorrow only
topping out in the upper 60s to low 70s. A High Risk of rip
currents remains in place through this evening due to lingering
swell. The rip current risk quickly drops to Low by Friday
morning. /96

SHORT AND LONG TERM...
(Saturday through Thursday)
Issued at 350 PM CST Thu Nov 14 2024

An upper level ridge will pass over the southeast through the
weekend with a dry and cooler airmass continuing. The upper ridge
and sfc high pressure slide of the area by the start of the work
week. This will allow a southeasterly flow to develop with
moisture levels increasing and moderating temps. An upper trough
ejects across the plains early next, sending a cold front eastward
toward the area on Tuesday. The highest rain chances are expected
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning as the cold front moves east
across the area. A much cooler and drier airmass will flow into
the area in the wake of the front for Thursday. /13

MARINE...
Issued at 350 PM CST Thu Nov 14 2024

Small craft should exercise caution as moderate to occasionally
strong northwesterly to northerly flow will continue through
tonight. Offshore winds will slowly decrease on Friday to a light
to moderate flow, becoming more easterly to southeasterly for the
weekend. /96
