11:11 PM CST Saturday 21 July 2018 Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:
City of Saskatoon
Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.
A trough of low pressure moving eastward across south central Saskatchewan is triggering scattered thunderstorms. These thunderstorms have had a history of producing quarter size hail along with heavy torrential downpours. The risk of severe thunderstorms will shift towards the American border as the night progresses.
Very large hail can damage property, break windows, dent vehicles and cause serious injury. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
