Grand Banks.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Monday departing low 978 mb located east of the
Grand Banks.
At 4:00 p.m. NST today quasi-stationary high located over western
Labrador.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:46 PM NST 22 February 2026 An intense low pressure system over the Southeastern Grand Banks will
continue eastward tonight. Meanwhile, a strong area of high pressure
over Western Labrador will remain stationary tonight. Strong to gale
force northerlies over southern waters will diminish tonight between
these features.
Marine interests are advised that a gale warning is in effect for
South Labrador Coast.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water except South Labrador Sea -
southeastern half.
