Issued 9:30 AM NST 23 December 2024 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 9:30 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 956 mb located east
of Greenland.
At 4:00 a.m. NST Tuesday approaching low 998 mb located over
Baffin Island.
At 9:30 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line north-south over
Quebec.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Tuesday ridge located from Labrador to Cape
Breton Island.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:16 AM NST 23 December 2024 An intense low pressure system will remain nearly stationary east of
Greenland throughout the forecast period as a ridge of high pressure
builds over Labrador. Strong to gale force west to northwesterlies
will persist between these two features.
Meanwhile, a second low pressure system will track north of the
marine district late Tuesday. Strong to gale force southwesterlies
will develop over northern waters Tuesday afternoon ahead of this
system.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
North Labrador Coast, Northwest Labrador Sea, and East Labrador Sea.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Lake Melville.
