Issued 8:00 PM NST 22 February 2026 Tonight and Monday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 973 mb located east of the Grand Banks.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Monday departing low 981 mb located east of the
Grand Banks.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight intensifying low 992 mb located off
Cape Hatteras.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Monday low 970 mb located south of Nova Scotia.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:41 PM NST 22 February 2026 An intense low pressure system east of the Grand Banks will continue
moving eastward tonight and drift further out to sea on Monday.
Gale to storm force northeasterly to northwesterly winds will
diminish to strong to gale force northerlies to northwesterlies
tonight. Winds will further diminish on Monday as the low departs.
A second low pressure system will approach the district from the
southwest on Monday. Strong to gale force east to southeasterly winds
will develop ahead of the low over southern waters, late in the day
on Monday.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south, Funk Island Bank, and the
Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Strait of Belle Isle - western half and Gulf waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, and Northeast Coast -
north of Cape St. John.
