Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:59 AM NDT 5 April 2026 A very intense low pressure system now well east of the marine district will continue tracking eastward today. Strong to gale force northwesterlies over eastern waters in the wake of the low will diminish today.
Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure will approach from the southwest. Strong to gale force southerlies to southeasterlies will develop over western waters ahead of the trough later today, then spread across the marine district tonight. Winds will shift to strong to gale force southwesterlies behind the trough on Monday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all waters except Strait of Belle Isle and Northeast Gulf.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in effect for East Coast, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and Northern Grand Banks.
