At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight trough located on a line northeast-southwest over Labrador Sea. By 9:30 p.m. NST Thursday trough located east of Labrador Sea.
At 4:00 a.m. NST today trough located southeast of Labrador Sea. By 9:30 a.m. NST today dissipating trough located southeast of Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:49 AM NST 4 March 2026 A strong low pressure system remains nearly stationary north of the marine district today. Gale force west to northwesterlies will persist through the forecast period over northern waters south of the low.
Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure southeast of the Labrador Sea continues to move east and will dissipate this morning. Strong to gale force westerlies over southern waters just behind the trough will diminish this morning.
Finally, a trough of low pressure will form over the Labrador Sea tonight and will sweep southeastward. Gale to storm force northwesterlies will develop over most waters with the passage of this trough.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for South Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Lake Melville and North Labrador Coast - Saglek and south.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in effect for all regions with open water.
