Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:32 PM AST 22 February 2026 An intense low pressure system will approach from the southwest tonight and pass south of Cape Sable Island Monday night. Gale to storm force easterlies will develop through the day as the associated warm front approaches. Winds will shift to gale to storm force southwesterlies over southern waters behind the warm front late in the day Monday, and to gale force northerlies in the wake of the low.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for Fundy, Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, southwestern shore, LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope, Sable, and East Scotian Slope. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Chaleur - Miscou - western half and Anticosti - western half.
Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in effect for Anticosti.
