northeast-southwest over Vancouver Island.

At 4:00 a.m. PDT today weakening frontal system located on a line
north-south over Haida Gwaii.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT today dissipating cold front located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Central Coast.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:45 AM PDT 4 October 2026 A frontal system over Haida Gwaii will move across Hecate Strait this
morning and then weaken as it continues to move southeastward.

Ahead of the system, southerly gales will develop over the northern
waters. Winds will shift to moderate to strong southwesterlies in the
wake of the system.
