...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO
4 PM PST THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 18
inches above 6000 feet with up to 2 feet above 7500 feet. Wind
gusting as high as 50 mph.
* WHERE...Western Plumas County/Lassen Park and West Slope
Northern Sierra Nevada including Interstate 80 over Donner Pass,
Highway 50 over Echo Summit and Highway 88 over Carson Pass.
* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 4 PM PST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Gusty
wind could bring down tree branches.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels 5000 to 6000 feet today,
lowering to 4500 to 5500 feet tonight and Thursday. Heaviest
snow accumulations are anticipated this evening into Thursday
morning with snow rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour at times.

your vehicle in case of an emergency.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM WEDNESDAY TO 10 AM
PST THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Snow. Snow accumulations of 6-12 inches above 5500 ft and
accumulations between 10-20 inches above 7000 ft. Winds gusting
35-55 mph in the valleys, and gusting to 65-85 mph over ridges.
* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area, and Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern
Sierra Counties.
* WHEN...From 10 AM Wednesday to 10 AM PST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult over mountain passes. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and
Thursday morning commutes. Strong winds could cause damage to
trees, power lines and may impact travel conditions along highway
395.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wave heights on Lake Tahoe could be as high
to 2-4 feet.
