3-31-3015 - Fixed NOAA "access denied" error which was the same error with the NOAA Forecast script - also re-sorted the dropdown menu. This is a free script! The only requirement is that the script credits must stay in tact at the bottom of the page! This script searches and displays the County Warning Area [CWA] "Weather Forecast Discussions" for anywhere in the United States. Simply select a location in the drop down menu to display the forecast discussion for that area. View map of the United States County Warning Area [CWA] at https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/05/NWS_Weather_Forecast_Offices.svg. When a viewer initially surfs to the web page it will always display the default station CWA and the default city/state. To run this script for your own call area, you will need to change the default station's CWA station code and the city/state information on lines 57 & 58. The default station code is changed on line 57 and the default city/state is changed on line 58. By default it is set initially to CWA code 'STO' at Sacramento, CA. The script is pre-formatted to run on the Carter Lake/Saratoga weather template. For template users, upload the script and it should work as is, after you set up the proper paths. If you wish to run it without the Carter Lake/Saratoga template, simply take the relevant code from the template to use on a stand alone page (see below). You will need to set the correct path to the location of wxdiscussion.php on your website on line 72. If you want to rename wxdiscussion.php, make sure to also rename it inside the "form" tags where it says action="/wd-alt/wxdiscussion.php" on line 72. The below is the snip-it of code to use if you want to embed the search engine on other web pages of your site. An example of this working can be see on the following webpage: http://www.eldoradoweather.com/forecast/localtowns/placerville7day/placerville7day.html Make sure to change the path to wxdiscussion.php on line 35 below.
