.KEY MESSAGES...
Updated at 1240 PM CDT Mon Jun 2 2025

- Summer like weather this week with warm temperatures.

- Becoming unsettled late week into the weekend with periods of
  showers and thunderstorms.

&&

.SHORT TERM...
(Rest of today through Tuesday)
Issued at 1133 AM CDT Mon Jun 2 2025

High pressure is sitting off to our east and a strong upper level
ridge is building in from the west. This will bring a quiet start
to the week with summer like temperatures. Highs today will push
into the mid to upper 80s. We will be under the apex of the ridge
on Tuesday and that will push highs into the upper 80s to possibly
some lower 90s. If we get to the 90s tomorrow this will be the
first time of the season, the last time Nashville saw a high 90 or
greater was October 6, 2024. Things should be dry the next two
days but we will see afternoon cumulus clouds develop, they may
produce a sprinkle but seems unlikely.

.LONG TERM...
(Tuesday Night through next Monday)
Issued at 1133 AM CDT Mon Jun 2 2025

The strong ridge of high pressure will start to slide off to the
east on Wednesday. Dry and hot weather will remain in place and we
will see highs push into the upper 80s to lower 90s once again.
The later part of the week into the weekend will become unsettled
as a trough over Canada pushes a frontal boundary into the region.
This will approach the west later in the day Thursday and will
bring showers and thunderstorms. High chances for showers and
thunderstorms will come on Friday as the boundary pushes over
Middle TN. The boundary will be stalled out over the area for
Saturday keeping scattered showers and thunderstorms in the
forecast. More widespread activity can be expected again on
Sunday as a short wave pushes in from the west. Overall it is
looking low for widespread severe weather but we will see bulk
shear increase over the weekend and could see a few stronger
storms and is something to keep an eye on. Temperatures will
remain warm throughout the week into the weekend but after
Thursday 90s will be unlikely, highs will be in the mid to upper
80s. Lows will be mild in the mid 60s to lower 70s.

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1240 PM CDT Mon Jun 2 2025

High pressure is in the area today which is providing VFR
conditions and light/variable wind. I typically try to prescribe a
wind direction for TAFs, but it is a truly variable wind
situation right now. Otherwise, we have FEW to SCT cumulus
developing around 060 for the afternoon. Winds should prevail
southerly tomorrow at 5-10 kts with continued VFR.
