.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 249 PM CST Fri Dec 19 2025

Visible satellite imagery shows clouds pushing into eastern Nebraska
and western Iowa this afternoon. For the rest of this afternoon,
expect gusty southerly winds around 15-25mph with gusts approaching
35mph in some locations. Afternoon highs should top out in the 40s
for most areas with a few 30s in western Iowa.

Saturday, low pressure will push east over the Dakotas, Saskatchewan
and Manitoba. A weak cool front will drop south into Nebraska and
Iowa, bringing slightly cooler air to the region. Highs (40s) are
currently forecasted to be a few degrees cooler than today for
Nebraska, but slightly warmer in Iowa. There is a small chance that
a few flurries may develop across northern Nebraska before sunrise,
but otherwise the forecast remains dry.

The pattern for next week is shaping up to bring warmer weather and
dry conditions to the region. Monday through Wednesday, widespread
50s are currently in the forecast for highs, with lows in the 30s.
Heading into the holidays, expect the possibility for some highs in
the 60s and lows in the 30s and 40s.
