.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 126 PM CST Mon Dec 22 2025

Through next Monday: Low-moisture and weak isentropic ascent will
persist through this evening, supporting varying cloud coverage with
the possibility for isolated light showers across the area.
Currently, mid to upper 60s dewpoints extend to the I-20 corridor.
These conditions are being driven by surface high pressure becoming
wedged into the Lower Mississippi Valley from the east, while quasi-
zonal flow aloft remains in place across the area through much of
the period, with ridging aloft building in late in the work week. As
the surface high becomes the dominant feature of the period beginning
Tuesday, leading to a dry conditions with a period of above average
temperatures heading into Christmas day. High temperatures daily
will generally reach the mid to possible upper 70s daily, while
overnight lows cool into the low to mid 50s through Saturday.

By the weekend, the approach of the next front from the northwest
looks increasingly likely, along with the return to colder
conditions and increase to rain chances./KP/

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 126 PM CST Mon Dec 22 2025

MVFR conditions will prevail at all sites for most of the forecast
period. Dense fog lifted around mid morning, but fog and stratus
were lingering across the southern zones. Guidance shows stratus
continuing through Tuesday morning. Warm and moist conditions will
support fog again tonight and guidance shows fog generally along and
south of I-20. There were some breaks in the clouds this afternoon
that were expected to last into the evening before returning
overnight. Not confident in where the breaks will occur, so went
scattered to broken clouds for western sites. Brought low clouds in
shortly after midnight and fog around 9z. Guidance suggest clouds
will thin through morning and gradually clear out through the day
Tuesday./07/
