.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 102 PM EDT Thu May 28 2026

- Dry & mild through next week.

An omega block has positioned a dome of high pressure across the
Upper Midwest and the Great Lakes which has resulted in clear
skies across Michigan today. Winds are also light. High pressure
is expected to remain in place through much of next week,
resulting in little change to our ongoing weather. Fire danger
will likely remain elevated during the afternoons as dewpoints and
relative humidity values will remain rather low.

Highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s during the afternoon and lows
in the mid 40s to lower 50s are expected through next week.

.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z SATURDAY/...
Issued at 801 PM EDT Thu May 28 2026

Fair weather with no precipitation will bring VFR conditions
through most of the forecast period. The one aviation concern will
be that of patchy fog/mist overnight. Easterly flow will bring
moist air off of Lake Huron over the region. With dewpoints in the
upper 40s currently, and lows forecasted in the low 50s to upper
40s, there is the potential for fog/mist to for. If winds remain
then it would preclude it but there should be enough of an
inversion for them to go calm. For this reason, there is a chance
for MVFR to IFR vsbys from 08Z to 14Z. The best chance will be ant
LAN and JXN with a reductions possible at GRR and AZO.
Wind will mix out after 14Z with VFR through the rest of the
period.

.MARINE...
Issued at 102 PM EDT Thu May 28 2026

Weak pressure gradient under high pressure will result in winds
5-15 knots over the lake for the next several days.
