High pressure to the south will bring warming for the weekend with Sunday high temperatures around 5 degrees above average near the coast to 5 to 10 degrees above average for inland areas. Then a little cooler for Monday and Tuesday. Night and morning coastal low clouds will continue to spread inland into portions of the valleys. && .DISCUSSION...FOR EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA INCLUDING ORANGE... SAN DIEGO...WESTERN RIVERSIDE AND SOUTHWESTERN SAN BERNARDINO COUNTIES... .Morning Update... Satellite this morning shows clouds clearing at a steady pace across the western valleys. Latest model data shows the best chance for sunshine across Orange County with higher confidence of partly to mostly cloudy skies further south in San Diego County coastal areas this afternoon. Very subtle changes in temperatures through Saturday expected with slight warming by Sunday. Night and morning low clouds will continue for western valleys with intermittent clearing near the coast through Saturday. Otherwise, no forecast updates. .Previous Discussion... .SHORT TERM (Today through Friday)... Not much change through Friday with high temperatures for the coast and valleys within a few degrees of average and around 5 degrees above average for the mountains and deserts. High temperatures will range from around average near the coast to the 80s and lower 90s for the Inland Empire with 105 to 109 for the lower deserts. The marine layer will remain around 2000 feet deep with night and morning coastal low clouds spreading inland across much of the San Diego County valleys and into southern and western portions of the Inland Empire. && .LONG TERM (Saturday through Tuesday)... High pressure to the south will bring a few degrees of warming for Saturday and another few to around 5 degrees of warming on Sunday. With the warming, Sunday high temperatures will be around 5 degrees above average near the coast to 5 to 10 degrees above average for inland areas. Sunday high temperatures will range from the lower to mid 70s near the coast to the 90s for the Inland Empire with 110 to 114 for the lower deserts. Then slight cooling on Monday with another few degrees of cooling for Tuesday with Tuesday high temperatures around 5 degrees above average. Night and morning coastal low clouds will spread into the western valleys for the weekend, then may spread a little farther into the valleys on Tuesday. && .AVIATION... 101515Z....Coast/Valleys...Low clouds based 900-1300 feet MSL with tops to 2100 feet have started to scatter out of eastern valleys. Scatter out inland will continue through 17Z, and coastal areas 18- 20Z, but with only partial or intermittent clearing at the immediate coast.
