.DISCUSSION...
(This afternoon through next Saturday)
Issued at 1133 AM CST MON DEC 22 2025

Isentropic lift is well underway across Central Alabama this
morning. As a result, we see an expansive low level cloud deck
draped across much of the southeast as well as light radar
returns. Have opted to introduce a mention of drizzle into the
weather grids through the day. With that said, most locations will
likely remain dry.

Water vapor imagery reveals a broad upper level ridge shifting east
across the Plains. This will lead to warm and dry conditions as we
head through the remainder of the week. High temperatures on
Christmas Eve and Christmas look to warm into the low to mid 70s.

Late this weekend, a trough near the Great Lakes region will kick a
cold front our way. As of now, we will carry a 20-40% chance of
showers. Much cooler air looks to accompany this front with temps
dropping into the 30s. Latest probabilistic guidance is starting
to hint at low chances of sub freezing temperatures Sunday into
Monday.

(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 534 PM CST MON DEC 22 2025

Ceilings across the area remain VFR and expected to continue
through the TAF period. Just small chances that ceilings could
flirt with MVFR around sunrise, but opted to not include any
reductions as this time, as best chances appear to be west of the
area. East-southeast winds have relaxed a bit and should remain
light overnight and gradually veer to the south by daytime
tomorrow as a surface bubble high builds in from the east.variable
through Tuesday morning.

.FIRE WEATHER...

MinRHs today will be lowest across east Alabama, averaging in the
20 percent range from late morning through the afternoon, but much
higher across west Alabama. No low RHs are forecast for the
remainder of the week due to seasonably high dew points.

Winds will increase today to near 10 mph from the east-southeast
to southeast, easing at sunset. Light winds are forecast on
Tuesday from the southwest, light again on Wednesday but from the
west/southwest. No big or widespread rain makers are in the
forecast through at least Saturday.
