.KEY MESSAGES...

Sierra Nevada this afternoon and evening.

2. Triple digit temperatures are expected to return later this
week.

3. Low minimum RH`s are expected to remain in the Valley and
deserts through the next week.

.DISCUSSION...
An upper level trough is over the Southwest currently, with
temperatures expected to be below normal again today, and a
slight chance for thunderstorms in the Sierra Nevada this
afternoon. As the trough weakens and moves east, a ridge will
build into the region, causing temperatures to gradually
increase throughout the week, with temperatures returning to the
triple digit range on Friday. These temperatures will cause a
moderate heat risk for the Valley and Desert regions.

Throughout this week relative humidity is expected to remain
steady, with 15 to 20% in the Valley and single digits in the
Deserts. With low winds, fire risk remains minor.
